A-Train

A-Train is a very complex and involving game. You can’t just lay track and start making money. First, you have to set up points around the map, where you move some goods, so that people will start to move in and build homes. “Goods” are the basic building blocks of your city and a good supply must be available within a certain distance of any new construction, ranging from individual homes to skyscrapers. Goods are delivered from off-map and this is adequate for getting things started, but you will eventually have to build your own factories if you hope to keep up with the rapid growth, that will occur, if you successfully turn your little village into a thriving metropolis.

In the early part of the game your populace goes to off-map, to the “big city” for work and recreation, but soon enough you will develop your own real estate, office towers, ski resorts, golf clubs and more, all in an effort to keep your people happy and attract new residents.
If all of this weren’t enough, there’s also a complete stock market with plenty of opportunities to make a killing or go bust. Although you could find yourself so busy with everything else that’s going on in the game, you may hardly get a chance to look at the stock market like I did!
All in all, this is one of the greatest business simulations ever made and it’s seamlessly intertwined with an excellent train simulation and a great real-time strategy game, all wrapped into one.
