Game Review (written by Adeep88) Added on: 12/16/2006
FIFA International Soccer is a entertaining game that is sure to please any true soccer fan. With a large selection of teams to choose from, unlike recent FIFA games, you can be almost sure that your country is represented. The game-play is fantastic, quick, and superior to any competitors. You will surely enjoy taking a corner kick and bicycle-kicking it into the net to win it for your country.
The graphics are fairly decent for the era. Not to amazing but decent enough that they actually add something to the overall game and don't detract from it. The announcer is truly a classic as he yells out GOAL after you put one in the back of the net. Sound effects aren't the greatest though with none of the chants and atmosphere of the crowd factoring into the game. Taking your team and putting them through the knockout tournament is the best part of the game. Picking a underdog and having them face the powerhouse teams from England, Brazil, France, Argentina, Italy and others is a rewarding and challenging experience. For anyone that has beaten the game on the hardest with a average team, you are a true sports gamer. There are a few knocks on the game though. Once you figure out the easy ways to score (not going to list them here and make the game much easier for you) the game does lose some of its toughness and you can easily beat any team using a few tricks. Until you figure these tricks out though, the game is really a good experience and you can spend hours playing it. Playing two players was always a real fun time. Hours and hours can be spent playing the full 90 min games as you and your friends pile on the goals and at the same time try to stop your opponent from doing the same. One you figure out how the game works, this is usually the only mode of game-play that you will use. If you can set it up so that you can play the game on a large enough screen, it is probably one the best old school soccer games there are. Basically it has everything you want in today's soccer games with the only knock being graphics, commentary and the fact that its difficulty level is actually quite high fro first time players. Other then that, all I have to say are good things about this game.
One of the best classic soccer games out there.

(10/23/2006) A soccer game with a lot of countries and many possibilities of configuration for your players and the enemy. You can play single or in a tournament, and if you want just see a demo between two teams. |
