Game Review (written by Crusades83) Added on: 01/15/2007
Hill Street Blues is a fairly simple cop game, based from a T.V. series many x-generation computer players wouldn't even know about. However, this classic computer game which was released to the market with only one disk (and that is a floppy disk mind you readers) needed for the installation.
The game is fairly simple in the fact that you play the role of various cops, the situation is as this, you go after muggers, and eventually you get to murders and bank robbers.
The game becomes a bit more complex when you need to investigate murders and match them up in a pin up at court. Similar to Law and Order: SVU if you nail the wrong criminal the people get upset, and you lose.
This game in very interesting, you can also revamp the game even to make it your own little city, as you can control vehicles movement, sirens and lights, and an array of other options that allow you to block roads, and place swat team members at the bank robbery situation. The map room views your present vehicles on the street. Remember don't forget to help call the ambulance for the victims of the crime, or the medical examiner for a dead body. Also a good tip is to not let your felony murders go away with citations, as all arrests have to be brought back into the police station.
The game play is not very difficult, and within an hour is easy to master. However, the crime solving part is a bit more difficult. As criminals start running away from the scene, and if you’re too late to catch them after the offense, you may almost need to give up, as it is almost impossible to patrol the entire streets for these offenders. The game play could be a bit more interesting if you could actually go inside of the buildings, however, with the limited technology of this game, you shouldn't expect that amount of creativity.
This game I would give 8/10 for fun. It definitely can run for hours on end, and you will remain entertained by the number of various crimes that occurs, as well as the number of victims that you find bleeding and hurt. It almost makes you want to become a police officer for your own city. So in essence I recommend you try this game for a spin. It will make you want to plead guilty for the amount of time spent.
