Game Review (written by Jimmy_the_taxi) Added on: 10/11/2006
Improved from the previous sensible soccer's, football has never been so fun and controlling a ball has never been so difficult. Sensible World of Soccer adds to its amazing gameplay by adding the choice to play a season's at any team in any country and also gives you money and transfer's to make the game more true life. It's never been so much fun controlling 11 players on a field.
All of the old genius things about the game are still there, it’s incredibly easy to run up the pitch try and dart round a defender and end up leaving the ball behind you. The player's themselves are more unique, each player has his advantages and disadvantages, for instance, players of lesser quality can only kick the ball softly, some may miss the target every time you shoot, others can't turn a simple corner without letting the ball run in the other direction. However, a player might have a hard shot but be extremely slow at running, on the other hand, he might run extremely fast, but lack power in his shooting.
As the name of the game suggests, Sensible World of Soccer gives you more control over players around the world and will take a lot of time to find out which players are best for you. The best way to try out new players to start with is to think of football players who are good in real life and it is more than likely that the player in the game will be a good bargain.
The fun will really never end, whether you’re playing a season, cup, tournament or even just a friendly. Nothing can be more satisfying than having a bunch of your friends round and have your own competition to see who is the best. Although the game itself doesn't reflect on realism, the game was actually never designed to. The game was designed in my own opinion to bring fun back in to the game of football, instead of just the aggression of wanting to win it’s actually quite fun to lose, to try things you don't normally see in football. Try a shot from your own half, give your goalkeeper the ball and see how far up the pitch you can get before you’re tackled, even see if you can score with your keeper. (Not an easy task, tried several times). If you don't believe me on how fun this game is try it for yourself you'll not be disappointed. Game rating 8/10.
