Worms is the bomb! Literally! Who does not like teams of worms fighting to the very end? I miss old games like this. Games where you can have lots of people battling it out on one computer (sorry, networks were not an option when I grew up). Of those games, however, worms has to be one of the best. This game takes 'take turns shooting' games like Scorched Earth to the next level. Worms 2 has better graphics and more options but you can not get a full version of Worms 2 for free (they still want to charge you fourteen dollars for a game which is starting to go moldy).

With millions of levels, and
randomly generated terrain, you can quickly find the exact type of game you want to play. The terrains are playful (snowmen and devils all over the place) and at times they can be down right challenging, especially if you are not a master of the ninja rope. You can customize just about everything in this game so that every game you play is personal. The computer keeps track of all your game stats so it is possible to feud over 'worm superiority' for weeks. You name all your worms (I like to name mine after all my ex-girlfriends so that it lightens the emotional blow when they get killed) which makes you feel attached to your team. This game has some drawbacks. The computer is very predictable and never misses with grenades and cluster bombs; it gets kind of annoying after a while and you have to search out a more human target. The cute little sounds the worms make can also get on your nerves. The graphics are dated, especially if you are used to Worms 2. This game could have used a few more weapons as well. You get sick of using cluster bombs and homing missiles (although I have never gotten sick of using dynamite or the shotgun). Realtime players might not like that this game because you take turns. What I did was I also downloaded Lero for when I have the itch to go at it in realtime (Lero also gets boring after a while but by them I am ready to go back to Worms). All in all, Worms is one of the best old games out there. I have yet to find someone who has not thought this is a good. I give it five stars. It is a must have for any classic gamer. Besides these little guys are cute.
