Game Review (written by Jadedgamer) Added on: 01/21/2007
If this is the game I think it is, I loved playing it when I was a kid. You got to build a castle and fight like a king defending his keep. I believe it was like a version of civilization but based primarily in medieval times. I loved it I hope it is the game I used to play because it’s so hard to find the games you loved to play from the early 1990’s. I have searched very hard to find my favorite games and this is the best site to find them at. I’m not sure exactly what to write for a review having not seen if this is what I remember it to be.
The graphics as far as I remember were better then most were at the time. You had to get stone to build the castle, decide where to place the towers the fortifying walls and you had to deal with waits because of winter. You actually had to stop your work and wait for three months for it to be spring again. But after a few accomplishments you got a screen pop up and you could choose to add to the outside of your castle and then it moved to the inside upgrading. Hopefully I’m not mixing two games together but even if I am I still suggest you give this game a try. Ok so I’ll elaborate on the civilization generalization.
In CIV you are trying to build an empire by building cities all over the continent’s and trying to beat out your enemies or fellow civilizations in economics, status of people and money. In Castle you are trying to build a castle to defend against invading armies keep your people alive and not get behind due to winters. Very fun if you like strategy games. I’m sure you will like this game. Having not played it in oh say 10 years my memory maybe a little rusty but I don’t think that rusty. When you have to fight to get on the computer I’m sure that the game is worth playing. Especially when you were fighting to play the game against two of the biggest game freaks in the world as competition.
Give it a try and hopefully it will not disappoint. If you are looking for a game that isn’t to hard, a fun strategy that won’t break your brain and some pretty good graphics check out Castle.
