Choplifter is a combat helicopter game where you will take the role of a helicopter pilot. You will be attempting to save several hostages that are being detained in prisoner of war camps. The Bungeling Empire has placed these camps in a territory that is being over run by their evil group. You will be trying to get all of the hostages out of the prisoner of war camps and transfer them to a friendly base.
Throughout the game play you will be fighting against the Bungeling Empire's tanks and several other enemy combatants.
You will be attempting to keep your helicopter alive or you will have to get more parts smuggled into the country to repair your helicopter. This takes time and expense.
You will be using the helicopter that is known as the Hawk-Z that has the ability to face in three different directions. These directions consist of left, right, or forward. These directions are the ways that you will have the option to shoot towards your enemies and allow you to keep flying in another direction. You must be very careful when it comes to your direction of fire though because there is the possibility that you are able to shoot one of the hostages. Keeping them alive is the whole goal of the game.
When
you are rescuing the prisoners, you will be required to shoot one of the buildings surrounding the hostage camps to be able to release them. You will then have to land so that the hostages are capable of boarding your helicopter and then you must take them back to one of the safe camps. You are only capable of transferring one building of hostages at a time making it so that you will have to make several trips to transfer all of the hostages from one prisoner of war camp. The best part is that the hostages will let you know when your helicopter is full by waving you off and then wait for you to come back if you can even make it back. The number of trips you end up having to make will depend on how difficult it is to get the hostages. Each trip will become more difficult then the next so there may be a chance that you don’t end up rescuing all the hostages the first few tries.
When you are attempting to pick up the hostages you must be careful not to land on one since it will of course kill them. It seems like there are more ways to kill them than there are to save them. You can kill them if your helicopter is not landed flatly and they roll around in the chopper while boarding. It isn’t just so easy picking up hostages and flying away, either. You will still be under attack by the enemy. There is the chance that tanks will fire on you and the only way you can shoot back is by being in the air, so some pick-ups may take longer than you think.
Choplifter is a side scrolling combat arcade game that has your very familiar arcade graphics. There is a great graphical design!
The game has been done with a lot of thought towards the gamers’ approval. There is enough difficulty to the entire game that make Choplifter very addicted and well played out. The plot isn’t too over dramatic, but the amount of effort it will take to complete the game will keep you playing. If you enjoy combat arcade games but are looking for something that isn’t your regular fighting game then you will want to experience this game. It is not like your regular combat arcade games and has enough difficulty involved that you will want to play this game numerous times.
