Commando is a great action packed shoot ‘em up arcade game where you will pretty much be going around killing. You will take on the part of Super Joe who at the beginning has been dropped off into a jungle by the helicopter. Once you’ve been dropped into this jungle you will begin fighting your way out of it on your own. You will be fighting against a huge army of men that look like German WWII men with the design of their uniforms.
Your main weapon in the game will be your sub machine gun that has an unlimited amount of ammunition. There is also a limited supply of hand grenades, but you must be wise with these since they are not unlimited. The grenades are able to do much more damage than your sub machine gun, but the gun will come in handy for up close combats.
Throughout the entire game each level will end with you fighting against several soldiers who are coming in from the gates or fortresses. These men have been told to attack you by a very big coward known as their officer, who runs away. If you are lucky enough you can shoot him in his back and gain bonus points. There is the option
to free prisoners of the war throughout the levels when the enemy is transporting them. This will also give you more points.
The graphics that go along with this game are similar to the arcade game. There has been a little more detail added onto the game, but overall you will still get that arcade feel everyone loves. The graphics are pretty well done for the game and do extend its popularity a little more.
Commando is not too difficult of a game to play. After you get the hang of the controls and what you are expected to do you will find yourself completing this game. Commando can be very addicting like most shoot ‘em up games, but with the adventurous feel with the added thrill of the game, this game has become phenomenally well laid out. If the game was a little more difficult it may have got the game further up in the game popularity, but there is only so much you can do to a shoot ‘em up game before it loses that wonderful touch.
Commando is a great game that is more so appropriate for the older age group with the amount of gunfights that there are. The game is quite enjoyable, but having a young child shooting people just doesn’t seem like a good idea. Commando will definitely catch your eye and have you addicted in no time. If you love those shoot ‘em up combat games then you will definitely like this game. There is just so much going on you will never want this game to end.
