Game Review 1 (written by Devilwithinjordz) Added on: 10/16/2006
Well, what can I say; this is a pure classic because of many reasons.
This is the first ever first person shooter to ever be created and set the standards for all modern first person shooters today and will do for future games. The graphics might not look good but this was made quite a while back and what it lacks in graphics, it makes up in game-play and weaponry. The weapons on this game also set standards for other games in the present day.
For example: The BFG is used in many other games like duke Nukem 3D and the chainsaw to rip people to shreds is used in the newly released scar face game. Doom had many challenging levels in where you faced more and more enemies of which who got harder and harder to defeat.
The game developers brought out Doom 2 which was also pretty good and had also brought out doom3 to show that doom still lives on through the many years. Also, a movie has been brought out which, in my opinion, has been done brilliantly with scenes of first person action by then end and explaining some of the storyline which wasn’t explained in the first 2 games. Because

of how classic the game is, people still play it today and still enjoy playing. It’s been a while since I last played but it does bring memories of other retro games that I used to play.
It’s quite unbelievable that a game like this has gone on for quite a while like this and I bet it will stay in people’s hearts and computers for years to come. It’s also quite unbelievable that you can get this classic for nothing on the internet which is also why it should be played by everyone.
However, when there good points, there has to be bad points. The first one is the graphics but who can blame the game due to when the game was made, it doesn’t really matter but I did realize one time playing it that sometimes you couldn’t see where you were going because of how pixilated it is. Also, the game does get incredibly hard by the end fighting off wards of enemies and also fighting the last (but god mode always works for me when I’m that situation.
This is a truly groundbreaking game that SHOULD be played and every person that is into first person shooters should own this game for many reasons.

Game Review 2 (written by Thecaption19) Added on: 09/23/2006
This is by far a classic fun game. It’s well known for the original first person shooting game that inspired the many versions of doom. There are zombies, demons, and many creatures that can be hunted down by you and you very big selection of guns. As for guns there are pistols, chain guns, rocket launchers and even a chainsaw! The graphics are good for there time and it is very difficult to find on the internet. If you haven’t played this game you must.
This is one of the few games that started first person shooter games; this is where it all started. Don’t you want to see where first person shooting games and action games came from? I loved this game when I first played it. I know you will love it too. It doesn’t compare to any of the games we have these days but at the time it was one of the best. Guns, Graphics, Action, and non stop fun equal one very fun game. Also not only are there many great guns you can use but there are many different levels you can use them on.
The levels are complex with twists and turns and sometimes the lights go out which makes it heart pumping and scary. The game keeps you on your toes. In the levels there are also secrets you can find hidden away in the levels. Most of the secrets you can either discover on your own or you can get them off the net. There’s health, armor and guns to keep you safe in the levels. The creatures you face are sometimes easy but some are extremely hard when you face them. Some of your enemies are regular zombies that fire guns. I hope you enjoy this game as I have, Good Luck.
