Game Review (written by Sam_neve11) Added on: 02/22/2007
“Eskimo games” was one of the first games I played. My cousins and I used to sit around and play the "Eggs-terminator" mini-game for hours whenever our parents left us home. The game is made up of five mini-games called Operation Snowball, Eggs-terminator, Miami Ice, Ice 'n Igloos, and Barbarian. In Operation Snowball, you have to survive for 90 seconds and hit passing Eskimos with snowballs to stop them from building a fort.
Eggs-terminator involves stealing eggs from birds' nests on a cliff. The birds are always coming back and laying more eggs for you to collect, but touching the birds themselves will make you fall. Miami Ice is very similar to that old bartending game, Tapper, except you feed customers with ice cream instead of serving beer to them. You also have to collect the empty cones when the customers are done with their ice cream. I was never very impressed with this minigame because it is so similar to Tapper. Barbarian is all about fighting a polar bear with a stick while standing on thin ice (but, once again, I don't know if this mini-game is included in this version of the game or not.) Ice 'n Igloos is about chopping ice and building an igloo before time runs out. You really have to watch out for the seals, though, because they will cause you to loose lots of time.
All of these mini-games are short and easy, and there isn't really very much skill involved, so the game can become boring very quickly. There were a lot of other games out in the same mini-game format, and most of them are a lot better and more fun to play. The game also offers a multiplayer feature, but it is pretty pointless because it only allows one player to play at a time. The graphics aren't half bad for a game released back in 1989, but I personally think that the Atari version has better and more colorful graphics.
This is a great game to download if you used to play it back when it came out. I certainly wouldn't call it a classic, but it is a fun, retro, and nostalgic game none the less.
