Game Review (written by 806tami) Added on: 04/01/2007
This is the original family feud game. I personally love this game, and in fact always have. I remember playing it as a little kid at my aunt’s house during my summer breaks. My friends and I used to go into her house and play this game after our long day of attempting to sell overly sugary Kool-aid to all of our sympathetic neighbors. This game was a great treat after spending the day outside in the sweltering heat and only making six dollars (by the way with which you had to split with your four friends).
I prefer this earlier version to some of the newer ones because it takes me back to when I was younger. It was the first version I even remember playing and has stuck with me through the years.
In the game, you can choose to play against the computer or even another family. The object of the game is to guess all the top answers that one hundred surveyed people gave when asked a specific question. (Ex. What else besides a car is considered a “lemon”) Some of the answers will have you laughing because keep in mind this is an older game so some of what is common today might not rank at the top in this game. It makes playing the game more interesting because you actually have to think. It is also quick paced so it keeps you on your toes.
After three rounds of survey questions, the winning team gets to play fast money. This is part of the game where you and a partner are given a short amount of time to answer series of questions. The goal is to accumulate points. Such questions might be, “What do you put on top of cereal or what do animals do when they get angry, etc.” The questions are always different so the game is never boring. It’s more fun if you play with a group, however you can play by yourself against the computer for fun as well.
This early version of Family Feud is very similar to later versions as far as game play goes, the graphics are just more simplistic and “old school” so to say. This in my opinion makes it better. I love the look of older games. Anyway, needless to say if you are looking for an entertaining “family” game then it is perfect for you. You’ll have hours of nonstop entertainment. Hope you love it as much as I do!
