Have you always wondered what it would be like living the life as a frog? Well now is your chance. In Frog 64 you will take on the role of a frog that wants to get across the road and river to get home. Now, yes this sounds like it’s going to be a simple task, but think again.
During your travels you will encounter many obstacles placed not only on the road, but as well as the river. When you first start playing you will have three frog lives.
You will start by guiding the first frog across the road. The road is full of obstacles including many different vehicles, the most dangerous one being the motorcycle. You will try avoiding contact with all the vehicles or you will lose that frog.
On the upper part of the screen you will have to manoeuvre across the river. Now instead of avoiding contact with these obstacles you will need to put them to use to get across the river. Jumping on to the turtles and logs will be a perfect way to get across, but you must be wise on your choice since if they take you off screen you lose a life. The obstacles you’d want to avoid in the river would
be the alligators, snakes, and otters since they will also take away a life if you come into contact with one of them.
The entire game is timed making it a bit more challenging. You will have a certain amount of time to get across the road and river or you will lose. This is a great addition to the game or you would have no problem completing the game.
Frog 64 is a game with many ways to actually lose, more than most games available today. The main ways you will lose your lives are coming into contact with obstacles that you really should avoid. Also if you don’t make it across in the amount of time given you will lose a turn, so it can be a little difficult trying to keep yourself alive.
When it comes to the graphical appeal of the game you will have your generalized arcade graphics that have used a lot of colour and detail. Everything in the game has enough detail done to it that will allow you to determine what the object is supposed to be representing.
Now it would be a lot of fun taking on the role of a frog. In this game you will get to have a fun yet interesting adventure across a road and river. Even though the game is not too difficult it is still quite a fulfilling game. You will find yourself completely addicted to Frog 64 in a matter of minutes. No frogs were harmed in the making of this game.
