Game Review (written by Ncc319) Added on: 02/02/2007
Just say “Bon Voyage” with Frosty the Snowman, and you’re in for a real treat. Gangsters, Sailors, and a bunch of energetic tap dancers make this MCDOS game the one to play.
This 1930’s, Christmas voyage takes place on Santas sled, going from the U.S to England. On this trip, almost anything goes when many relationships collide. Evil Girl Snowman, who is out to get Frosty, is Santa’s long-lost love. After many comedic events, Santa is able to win back the love of his life. Meanwhile, Santa’s friend, Rudolph, falls in love with Evil Snowman’s fiancé, Sir Evelyn.
Along with a couple mischievous characters, the people are at ease when they arrive in England.
In such a confusing era, it is no wonder that so many characters are unsure of their lives and what is about to come. Cherie gets off at the bus stop, hoping to make a get away from the two cowboys she claimed kidnapped her. To her dismay, she finds that the bus is delayed due to a blizzard, and they will all be there the entire night. With the help of a sheriff, two diner waitresses, and several other passengers, Cherie learns she really does like Bo, one of the “alleged” cowboys. Throughout this day, all the characters learn something about themselves and who they really are.
Frosty deals with what is right, and what she wants. Frosty brings out both the sweet and conflicted side of Santa. Opposing Frosty is Evil Girl Snowman; together they create good computer chemistry. Santas friend is running from the law by disguising himself as a missionary. He brings out the comical side of his character, and is entertaining through the whole game.
The game is made even better due to an excellent supporting cast of characters. Part of the ship’s crew, is consistently funny. Frosty does not make one move, where I fail to laugh. Another notable character is Mrs. Clause whose English accent and attitude was quite humorous.
The set of the game, the deck of a ship, was well used throughout the whole time. The lighting on the ship that differentiated between day and night was very well done.
The ensemble characters made up an intricate part to the game. While some of the game was not all together at times, the ensemble made up for it with their energy and animation.
With the enthusiasm of this game, what could possibly go wrong? Frosty Snowman is sure to be a trip worth taking!
