Graeme Souness Soccer Manager is a basic football managing game based on the English leagues where you, the player, are responsible for bringing a team (from the ones available) from the Conference division all the way to the top Premier division. It is a single player game and concentrates on the managerial aspect of the game. Here I have written the main features of the game to give you an idea of the gameplay.
The game features are as following:
(1) You can select the starting line up, your preferred eleven for every game.
(2) The players are rated in their ability and their fitness.
(3) You are able to plunder into the transfer market and try and strengthen your squad with new signings. You are even allowed to request overdraft extensions!
(4) You are even able to take a loan from the bank to financially help you buy a desired player from the transfer market
(5) You also control the wages of your players. This is an important aspect of the game as the main challenge of the game is to balance your team’s finances by paying the correct wages to your players. This is especially important in the lower divisions as too high wages can lead to disastrous effects
(6) There is even a scout that tells you before a game
how good the other teams defense, attack and midfield is. The pitch condition is also considered when playing a match.
(7) You are able to make substitutions through a game to improve the team’s performance
(8) There is also a highlight option, this depending on whether you opt to watch the game or just get the result.
(9) You are even able to take a loan from the bank to financially help you buy a desired player from the transfer market.
(10) There is also an injury report to keep you updated on your team players fitness.
(11) There is a full fixture list to show you your forthcoming fixtures and previous results.
The game graphics are of a good standard, however be warned if you are used the modern high definition graphics then sadly this game will not able to provide them for you, after all the release date is in 1992!
However, I would personally recommend this game to anyone who enjoys managerial or even tactical games, for this is the game for you! Get the buss of being a manager of a football club in the comfort of your computer chair. Experience the highs and the lows of a career in the football business as you attempt to travel from the Conference to the Premier division. Can you get to the top?
Good Luck and Happy Gaming!!
