There have been four different stages emplaced into the game. The stages that you will take on are:
•Marshalling Area
•Harbour
•Air Base
•Siberian Camp
When you first start playing the game your weapon of use will
be a knife. Once you take part in actual combat you will have the option to take the enemies weapons depending on the level that you are in. In the first stage you can get a three shot flamethrower, second level a three shot RPG, third level a three packs of hand grenades, fourth stage one of each from the previous three stages. After the completion of every stage you will get to take part in a bonus challenge. Capture all the POW’s you will be given a salute and then start over. Run to the right once you’ve done this and you’ll discover some new territories, you have ten minutes to do something or an air bomber will blow you up.
Side scrolling has been used to develop the game. The game has been done with an arcade like feel which doesn’t include too much graphical detail. All the animations seem to run quite smooth and have great design for the years of development.
The difficulty level of Green Beret has been done to be playable by new and old gamers. With the inclusion of minimal tasks you won’t have too much to worry about completing other than saving the Prisoners of War. Once you complete a stage the next one will be a little more difficult than the previous stage allowing you to develop with the game. A game being designed around the Cold War is generally going to be a more dramatic game, which has been well displayed with Green Beret. Realism is a definite occurrence in the development of the plot.
