This game is a classic. The game was actually made before I was even born. It really gives you an experience of a bunch of different sport competitions. The classic sport games are the absolutely best, I think. The graphics are absolutely horrible, compared to what games are like now. But it is a really fun game. The best part is, that the little people in the game wear the craziest little outfits. This game really gives you a very realistic feeling.
You feel like you are in the game. It’s better than looking from a distance, you can feel like you’re really in the action, with a person getting closer or farther away in action. You even can do a replay, of what you just did, by pressing F1.
Each game tests a different part of your personal performance. 3 test your muscles and 3 test timing and reflex. Each of the games must be loaded separately. You must select the number of players and then enter the names and an affiliation. Then you have to choose your team colors.
The games involved are:
100m sprint. This event is played over a scrolling track with your character in the center of the screen. When
the gun goes off, you must move you joystick left to right as fast as possible. The faster you can move, the faster your character runs. One or two players can play.
110m hurdles. This one is similar to the 100m sprint and the same sort of toggling applies. The only difference is, even you only move left and right, your character will not jump the hurdles and will fall over. You must press right on the joystick for the character to jump the hurdle. Between hurdles just move the joystick left to right to pick up speed.
Long Jump. You must move the joystick left and right to gain speed on the run up and when your character reaches the board just press up on your joystick. If you time it correctly your character will fly through the air and land in the sandpit. Then pull right on the joystick to push him forward, otherwise he falls over.
Archery. This event is played in 3D. To put an arrow in the bow, keep the fire button depressed and pull back on the joystick. This event automatically caters for the distance to the target so you don't have to worry about compensating for the arrow dropping during its flight. But you have to watch out for the wind and compensate for its effect. The current wind speed and direction is constantly updated while playing.
Spring board diving. Your character stands on the left hand side of the screen, and when the joystick is tapped right, begins the short run-up to the end of the board. When the character reaches the end of the board push up to make them jump, pull down to tense their legs and then up again to spring. If this is timed correctly, they fly through the air doing somersaults. Just before they hit the water, pull down to kick out. Points are awarded for the gracefulness of the dive, multiplied by the dive's difficulty factor.
Weightlifting. This has two parts: the Two Hand Snatch and the Clean And Jerk and is another event, which tests your timing. The player controls lifting movements by either pushing or pulling on the joystick.
