Game Review (written by Jnp2004) Added on: 12/22/2006
Icicle works is a truly addictive game. You play the role of a little man who runs around various mazes, collecting ‘presents’. Each present you collect builds up a block of a picture in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and each maze carries a time limit. Once the picture is complete the doors become unlocked and you are able to enter a new maze.
During game play, you face the perils of killer penguins that will eat you and also snowballs that can fall on you and crush you.
These obstacles must all be avoided and the ultimate prize of a room full of bonus cubes will be opened to you. In fact, once you have completed a room, then the next time you enter it, it will be completed and bonus presents will be available in place of where the presents used to be - the doors will already be unlocked because you will have completed that room already.
There are over twenty mazes in all and each and every maze sets new challenges to test your brain and aptitude whilst still maintaining an enjoyable and fun gaming arena. The little man looks a bit like Santa Claus but it is of course possible that it is in fact somebody who is running

around stealing the presents from Santa! Who knows?! Who cares?!
I happen to know that game maps are available on the web if you look hard enough - you can see which doors lead to which rooms and where the obstacles are in every room. Not really a cheat so you needn't feel too bad about getting extra information. This information, in reality, is simply an aid to understanding rather than a sneaky, cheating code.
Aim of the game is to complete the game and get as many points as possible to gain an entry to the leader board.
The whole game takes place to the tune of a real catchy theme tune that will run forever in your mind!
I used to play Icicle Works on my C16 plus four as a kid and I can still say now even after having played PS2 and Amiga Classics, that it is one of the most playable and addictive games I have ever played. There are other great games also to have on this platform and I would truly, genuinely recommend that you have a look at this website and try some other game downloads.
Great game…..
