Game Review (written by Gentle_wolf_bear) Added on: 12/04/2006
Playing jumpman brings me back to the days when I was a kid growing up. Computers were kind of brand new and I was written up in the local paper for having a knack for using them. I spent long hours playing jumpman and it rocks. It keeps you entertained for hours. You have to be careful that it doesn't keep you occupied for too long because man, it will.
Playing hour after hour, jumping and running and dodging those darn bullets and jumper bullets.
You mean you don’t know the difference between bullets and jumper bullets? Well, let me tell you: bullets are dots that come onto the screen of play nice and slow, and when they line up with you somewhere on the screen in a vertical or horizontal line, they fire straight at you, and you have to dodge them! Jumper bullets are bigger dots that do the same thing, only there are more of them and if they hit you, they don’t kill you like the regular ones do, they simply make you jump in some direction. Sometimes it works out that after you land you are safe and other times it means that’s the end of another jumpman.
Hope you

have more than one left! So yeah, there are other things that one could write about this game, like how it can keep you occupied for hours, suck you in, and make you have some frustrating fun. I set a time limit as to how long I will play so I don’t play for fourteen hours at a time. There are also other aspects of the Jumpman game. For instance in one particular sequence it is called, Dragon slayer. Here you can’t jump, you can only chuck spears.
If you don’t use the spear chucker motion in the right way, the spear will go over the dragon and you’ll have to run for your life to the nearest rope going up. Another scenario is called Bombs away in which you have to avoid bombs falling from the top of the screen. They make a big splash you must avoid when they hit the bottom of the game area too! So you best grab that middle down rope and jump back and forth to get the goals.
Did I mention that was the goal of each game screen, you jump around, get little orange goals until they are all gone and then you move on to the next challenge. Will you take the challenge and attempt to be the best jumpman you can be? I dare you too!

Jumpman was my favorite game in my C64 library. I have even found a PC version of the game - Jumpman Lives! The levels kept me sufficiently challenged and engaged for hours! This game is definately a must-play for anyone who has not experienced Jumpman!

One of my oldest gaming memories. My brother and I would play this for hours.

This game (Jumpman and Jumpman Jr.) brings back a lot of good memories. This is the best game I played back in the early 80's when I first got my Commodore 64 it was and still is very addictive game that will always be a classic. Two thumbs up for Jumpman and Jumpman Jr.
