Kennedy Approach is an air traffic control simulation where you will take the role of a controller who is working in a Terminal Control Center. You will be guiding planes in to the airport to have a safe landing and take off correctly. As the player you will be directing the planes in their proper path of flight pretty much being their eyes.
The whole aspect of the game is to manage your flights that you have been scheduled and keep them on track. You don’t want the planes to be getting delayed or be taking the wrong landing platforms or the flight hasn’t been completed correctly. The plane can either show up on your air controller screen flying already or
have an already set exit or landing path or they will come up wanting to take off. Your overall job is to determine when the planes will fly or land as well as where and when this will all occur.
When it comes to the amount of space between the planes you must keep them at a fair distance by keeping them at different levels of flight and at a great distance between each of them. There is the chance that the planes may become in danger of crashing or begin taking off at the wrong platform with the wrong altitude, you will be informed right away. There will be no changes to the planes direction until informed which can be a difficult job when you are controlling more than one plane at a time. When planes are coming into the airport and they haven’t received clearance to land they will go to a holding pattern until you inform them that it is clear.
At the very beginning of the game you will start off with several flights at the same time each being at different levels that will all need information on their flight paths. Throughout the game play some planes will encounter storms which you will have to direct them around, as well there is the good chance planes will be running low on their fuel so you must land them before that runs out or they will crash.
There have been five airspaces used in the game play, which consists of Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Washington D.C, and New York City. Each has depicted out the very popular landmarks of the areas such as Denver showing the Rocky Mountains towards the west. When it comes to the airplanes that you will be guiding there is the Cessna light planes, the Boeing 747 and the Concorde. Cessna is the slowest of all the planes, but they all fly just as well as the other. Lastly, there has been use of four different airlines, which consist on American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Air France. You will be able to depict out which planes are which.
The game has been designed with your basic radar graphics that you will point and click. When it comes to the conversations between you the controller and the plane flight commander they are very understandable. You will be able to distinguish everything that is in order simple and easily.
Kennedy Approach is a very simplistic but complicated air flight simulator that is a great educational aspect in the overall ordeal that air flight controllers have to deal with daily. The game gives you the view of what is expected in the job career as well a great feel for what can be expected in that line of work. The game’s overall appeal is phenomenal and quite exciting with all the unexpected events you will have to deal with. If you’ve enjoyed air simulations in the past and are looking for something a bit different, then Kennedy Approach would be a fascinating adventure for you to take on.
