MISL Soccer was one of if not the first of its kind to give you a managerial and general manager option for playing sports games. As I was eight years old when I first played and got into this game, I'm not sure if what I remember of the actual game-play is due to my eight year old digits, but my recollection is that the soccer part of the game is not easy to play.

game simulators (road games are simulated).
I wish I had more to offer here, but I should add the fact that I was a HUGE Baltimore Blast fan at the time this game was released. Keith Von Eron was the Blasts stellar goal keeper, and I even got to attend his soccer camp for a couple of summers.
The other game from this era that helped start the whole general manager minded sports games was Earl Weaver Baseball, the predecessor to Tony Larussa Baseball. Both of these games are fabulous and should bring back some memories if you're the sports loving type like me.
By the way, Earl Weaver was the manager of the Baltimore Orioles the year that Cal Ripken came into the Majors. Cal was just officially voted into the Hall of Fame yesterday. Go Cal. There are a lot of athletes out there to pick as a favourite when you're growing up. Thank go I picked Cal Ripken and not LT, Len Bias, or insert your favourite washed up old flame. Cal always did us right.
The 83 Orioles team (actually coached by Joe Altobelli) won the World Series, and the Baltimore Blast still play in the MISL, though it is a shadow of its former self as a league. I am not up on my Baltimore Blast news, but I believe they have won the most titles since the league's inception.
Soccer should be more popular in America. I mean come on, it’s a bunch of dudes scrapping it out over a piece of leather! It works for American Football, baseball and basketball so what is the deal! Oh it’s not high scoring enough (so make the goals worth 10 points and no one will care about that anymore).
