The aim of Oil Baron is to have the most cash and shares in the companies by the end of the game, which is when all the squares are filled.
You acquire the cash by selling off shares when the company is doing well. You try to predict companies, which will do well in the future and buy them at a low cost. Selling these at a later date before they plummet in price and value you can make a profit. You start off with an amount of cash; with this you must buy and sell companies.

Basically it’s a pretend stock exchange game minus the cost of a broker. It is a meiotic game depending on how many times you have played it. After a couple of hundred games, no I’m only kidding, after a while you will find it quite simple. It is a game that will take time and patients and an ability to cope under stress. It’s hard to remember that they are just pretend companies that you are loosing as it can get quite addictive.
I found it a really good game but there will be those who won’t find it their thing. If you like challenges then try this. If you like strategy games which involve money and forward thinking decisions then this is your chocolate cookie.
You click a tile. You have a choice of six tiles depending on your options. It doesn’t cost anything. When two tiles are next to each other they can turn into a company of your choice. I enjoyed playing it but never won. I am not a multimillionaire either, what a surprise. Be careful when placing companies on tiles next to each other. When joining companies, the larger company will take over the smaller company.
Be careful not to let this happen to companies that you stand to make a large profit from by selling them as they are. The larger company might give you a lesser return on what you paid for it. The graphics are pretty basic, a bit like minesweeper. They are just basic images on squares, which doesn’t really deduct from the game-play.
There are no other games that I know of like it. I liked this game loads. I liked the buying and selling of massive companies the best, as I don’t have the opportunity to do this in real life. I may in the future; depending on whom mother marries
