Phantasie

Fantasy role-playing video games were a major hit in the 1980’s era. Phantasie was another RPG type game that was released during this time being similar to the previously made Ultima series.
This game is the beginning of an astounding series like many others being based around the Isle of Gelnor. During this game you will have a group of six various characters that will be traveling along the countryside. As you travel throughout this game you will eventually come upon the evil Black Knights that you will have combats will.

You will also near the end of the game take on Nikademus who is the leader of the Black Knights. For your character selection you will have a choice of six different character types. These types include a thief, fighter, ranger, monk, priest, and a wizard. There are also five different races that you can choose amongst. These include human, dwarf, halfling, elf, and gnome. When you make the decision of choosing random your choices will change to be from a collection of ogre, troll, pixie, gnoll, orc, lizard man, minotaur, and many other interesting races.
Throughout the game you will have many areas that you can interact with the will allow you to purchase from various shops. For all the characters that are in the game they will each have their own style of fighting giving you a unique feel of each individual character. When you take part in a combat you will get experience gained that can be purchased in town when you have qualified to purchase them.
As you advance through the game it will become a bit more difficult to defeat the enemies. This allows you to not only gain experience but also have the ability to learn new interesting moves and abilities the further along into the game you get.
Phantasie was the very beginning of a new interesting series that made an impact on the world of gaming. The graphical detail for this game was quite interesting with great use of colours and designs. This allowed the game to have an even more appealing aspect towards it overall design.
