Platform games can be developed with many different plots behind them. Popeye is another great platform style game that will have you playing for many hours of fun and excitement. Popeye was a very popular cartoon in the 1980’s and with the development of the game it became even more popular. Collecting all the items that will be falling down the screen is your main task of the game.
Attempt collecting all twenty-four hearts, the sixteen music notes, all the letters that will spell out help, and avoid the various characters that are trying to defeat you are your main goals of Popeye.
Take the control of Popeye and have him walking throughout the platforms with the capability of going straight, backwards, up, and down utilizing your joystick. You will have to travel throughout all the platforms collecting all the above listed items before they disappear while avoiding those pesky enemies trying to put a halt on your game.
There has been a can of spinach placed into every level, which will bring out a punching bag at the top of the platforms. You will utilize this item to become invincible, but
it won’t last too long. When you have this item run into the enemy characters to known them out. Even though this item won’t kill the enemies, it will assist you further into the game when you have more items to collect at a time. Use the can of spinach wisely though; it only can be used once per level.
During each level you will have a punching bag placed at the top of the platforms. This item will help you knock down the barrels that have been placed near the punching bag. You will use this to knock down the barrels trying to drop them on top of your enemy to give you some extra time in collecting items while he is down for a few moments.
During the entire game you will be attempting to gain a large amount of points by collecting all the items Olive Oyl is throwing down for you to collect. Try collecting the items before they get too far down the screen since they are worth more at the top then they are at the bottom. You must collect all the hearts before they disappear or you will break Olive Oyl’s heart and loose a life.
Popeye is a phenomenally designed platform game based on a classic television show. Throughout the game each level will increase in difficulty allowing you to have more challenging fun with each level. Take on the challenge and become the ruler of each level before its too late and you loose your one true love.
