There have been several games that have been designed around R-Type’s gaming format that have become just as popular as this game itself. R-Type is another shooter game where you will be taken to outer space attempting to destruct many different enemies and several big bosses.
Like any other shooter game you will have that usual plot with just going through several levels killing everything on your screen other then yourself. With R-Type you are given many different levels to complete, each becoming more difficult then the next.
At the beginning of the game you will discover how simple it is to destruct your enemies, but once you get further into the levels you will be having a more difficult time in doing this.
The game has been designed with superb graphical appeal for being created in 1988 with fascinating design done to each and every level you will take part in. The game has many different twists compared to other shooter games, such as the force ball. The force ball is a unit that has the ability to be powered up onto or off of your ship. It can be placed on either the back or the front of your ship. This allows you to have some tactical decisions on your
own survival while travelling through the Bydo Empire. The game has been designed to look a little blocky in some areas and is missing some several key effects that would of taken the game further into success. Even though there are a few missing aspects you will still find yourself enjoying this game very much.
There are some pretty amazing effects done to the shooting and explosions that you will see. R-Type has also included that fantastic tune that you will remember whistling along to even when you are not participating in the game itself.
There were several more R-Type games added onto the sequel after the release, but none did as well as R-Type in itself. The game is overly addicting with a fascinating appeal to all of the game play. It does have those simplified arcade graphical design, but that just makes the game a true classic.
If you have discovered yourself enjoying the newer shooter games, but want to experience an old classic, then you will find yourself really enjoying R-Type. The game does have many levels that will allow you to experience hours of game play. The end bosses are definitely a great addition to the ever so popular game that will make you take on some very difficult enemies. R-Type is challenging as well as one of the most exciting shooter games you will ever experience.
