I remember playing this game for the first time when I was about six or seven years old. My dad and I would play it together on his old Commodore 64. I remember having trouble with it back then, and even today, it provides somewhat of a challenge to navigate the character through a maze of different levels, ultimately to get to the top and retrieve a suit of armor. Along the way, it is your job to destroy the aliens that have overtaken the game, and who are trying to stop you in your quest.

The idea behind the game is simple, showing how one hero must rise to the top and save the human race from foreign invasion. I have discovered that
defeating the aliens can prove to be a challenge until you get the feel of the controls. This is difficult, especially in the beginning when you do not have the suit of armor and must rely on throwing rocks to defeat your enemies. However, more complicated actions can be learned, such as flying and shooting more destructive weapons, as the game progresses. These upgrades can be found along the way in nature as you move from level to level.
The most difficult part of the game is certainly getting started. Even fifteen years later, I find it discouraging to figure out exactly where I am beginning, what I have to defeat, and where I can find the upgrades that will essentially get me through the game. Personally, I have learned that the middle levels are fairly easy, provided you take your time and think about every move that you make.
As with any game coming out of the 1980s, the graphics are not anything great, but they are satisfactory enough even in today’s technological generation to provide entertainment for those of you who grew up with the Commodore games. Everything is in 2D, and the actions of the characters and enemies are very simple, typically moving back and forth. The character you control physically does run and throw objects, providing the most intense graphics you will see in the game. The pieces of land in which you jump on to move from level to level are little more than little, colored rectangles with some minor detailing to make them look semi-realistic.
If you are looking for a game with great graphics, this is not for you. However, if you want classic arcade style video games that provide a conquerable challenge, this game has it all.
