Spellbound Dizzy

C64
Genre:  Adventure    |     Year: 1991    |     Publisher: Codemasters     |     Developer: Codemasters
Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 01/15/2008
Throughout the world of Dizzy you will have encountered many games each being more unique than the next. A great addition to the Dizzy collection would have to be Spellbound Dizzy, which is another adventure video game. During this game you will become the character known as Dizzy. For the fifth game a part of the Dizzy collection it has been considered the one with the largest map compared to other games of this collection.
Spellbound Dizzy has been designed to be a fair amount more difficult and longer than other Dizzy games with over a hundred different screens and the inclusion of many mini games.

you fall from something that is considered high you will lose health points, which is one downside of Spellbound Dizzy. The inventory displayed will have several different icons representing items you have collected with the collection being separated. Throughout the entire game you will discover healing items that will assist in getting you further into the game.
You have been trapped into a world of unknown when you were playing around with your spell book. Trying to find your way out of the world of unknown can be quite a long adventure. Accomplishing many puzzles and manipulating hundreds of objects are just some of the things you will do during the next couple of hours. Avoid the dangerous hazards that are scattered throughout the levels or you will lose your health. Solving riddles that you have found inside some scrolls will be your way out of the game, so be prepared to think.
One of the most complicated games of the Dizzy collection, but it will keep you interested until you’ve defeated the entire game. With you taking on the role of the amusing Dizzy you are still going to get the marvellous feel that you experienced in the previous four games.
During the entire game there is a lot of strategic thinking that you are going to have to do. There are so many puzzles and riddles throughout the entire game you will have your mind running none stop till you’ve completed the game.
Graphically, Spellbound Dizzy has been upgraded. There is a lot more detail included into the scenery and the platform design of the game is not as visible as others.
The Dizzy Collection has become one of the most addicting series designed over the years and with the inclusion of Spellbound Dizzy you are getting a better feel of how complicated these games can actually become. Take on this challenging adventure and become one of the few who can proudly say they completed Spellbound Dizzy. It may take a long time, but the satisfaction of when you’ve completed it is just astounding.

This version of Dizzy introduces Theo, a magician who arrives to help Dizzy and the land of Yolkfolk out of a sticky magic situation. All of the gang from the past games are here, as are the most areas to explore in a Dizzy game (100+ rooms) and mini games galore.
