Summer Games is a competitive sports video game that had a wide variety of sports activities to participate in. There was the capability to have up to eight different players, each selecting a country that they would like to represent. You then will be taking turns against your opponents in various competitions. You will be completing for the medals to see who performs better at events.
There are many events to participate in throughout the entire competition. Some of these events consist of pole vault, platform diving, sprinting, gymnastics, freestyle swimming, skeet shooting, rowing, and rock climbing. You have the option to choose numerous events at once, just one, or do practice runs to better you at each sports activity. With the option to select which events you would like to compete at this gives you the ability to select events you feel more comfortable with to start.
Summer Games has been designed quite well when it comes to the graphics, because they are colorful and bright. With the amount of detail that has been placed in to the over all scenery the game has a great visual appeal.
After playing this game numerous times and attempting new competitions you will find yourself becoming very competitive with your opponents. With the great high score sheet you will be able to prove to them how well you are doing and try beating all the other high scores. It is a great feature to the game to be keeping track of all you’re scoring just so you know if you are improving and in what events you are better at.
Summer Games does not become too difficult at any point in the game. When you are competing against the computer you may find it a little more difficult, but over all after a little practice you will as well be able to have a great game verses anyone. With this game being very competitive in many aspects this game is a great group game amongst your friends.
Summer Games is by far one of those classic Commodore 64 games that many will remember. The game is a very enjoyable game for all ages and enjoyable for anyone who just loves playing video games. With the superb graphics and the great layout of the game competitively, Summer Games has become a very phenomenal game. If you like competing and sports that you would mainly see in the Olympics, Summer Games is a perfect game for you. Time to get all your friends together and start competing against the world!

It's a cool game. It's easy to play, but it is a lot of fun. My sister and I used to play this for hours and we learned all national anthems with this game.Jehovahnissi (12/27/2006)
