Game Review (written by Justyj226) Added on: 12/18/2006
This game is a pretty cool remake of the Super Nintendo game. The graphics are pretty much matched up the same way as from the Nintendo console so there is not much of a difference in how you see the characters. I did think that it was a little bit hard to control the players with the keyboard. I don't know why but my mouse would not work with the game so I had to use keyboard keys, which made it a little bit difficult.
At the beginning screen, there is an option that you can click, I think it’s the letter 'R', where you can reconfigure all of Mario's moves according to what you think will be easier for you. Even so, I downloaded this game to try out what it would be like to play it on the computer, but I think that I will stick to playing it on my Super Nintendo from now on, seeing as Mario seems easier to handle on the television screen! All of the levels are the same, and even the bad guys that are trying to kill you are the same too. Mario has the same powers like in the Super Nintendo version as well.
When I first started to play the game, I could not figure out how to start it up on my computer because it was not in DOS form and it would not open correctly on my computer. But first you have to extract the files from the .zip folder and once you do that all you do is click on supermario.exe file and it opens itself right up in a new window on your computer screen. I had a lot of difficulty getting past the first level because I really have never seen that level before on the Super Nintendo version of the game. What's up with the flying fish that you can sometimes kill and other times they kill you? And also what's up with piecing the plumbing tube together?
I have never seen that. And Mario can fly because he has a jetpack strapped on to his back? Maybe I just have a different version of the game at home, but I have never encountered this level before. And even though I said that Mario had a lot of the same powers as in the Super Nintendo version, I have never witnessed or seen Super Mario to be able to shoot water that kills the flying fish.
The game is pretty hardcore from level one and the flying fish are hard to get by. Even so, it's a pretty good and entertaining game, I must admit.

Mihaela (09/07/2006) I like mario games.Titusthefox (08/24/2006) Mario Forever is number 3, but this is not the same physics as the previous mario games. the basic plot line is the same, and is the same as the remake of the first Mario series, no different storyline exactly the same questions answered. theo.p.todd |
