You are the dictatorial ruler of the Epsilon Galaxy, who has obtained complete and unchallenged authority. be really hard and frustrating at times. The solar system is really huge, so the game takes a lot of time.
The concept of the game is very much like modern strategy games (Imperium Galactica, Sim City, Command & Conquer). At the start of the game you have a certain amount of money, and from there you will need to colonize planets. To earn money you tax the planetary population, but the higher your taxes are, the less population will increase, though you will earn more. You will also need to mine minerals (with the mining platforms), generate energy and produce food in order to increase population. Then it’s up to you: if you attack your opponent, or if you stay friendly and only colonise unclaimed planets.
As for re-playability, it is very good because of all the different possibilities.
This game has it all: brilliant music, brilliant graphics, brilliant gameplay; all in all an excellent game. Supremacy was one of the best games ever to be made for the Commodore 64, and one of the best strategy games in history. The main theme was composed by Jeroen Tel, and is recognized as one of the best SID tunes ever made, reaching the 52nd spot among almost 30,000 entries in the High Voltage SID Collection.
In my opinion, Supremacy is one of the best space strategy games of all time (the Imperium Galactica series being the best). It offers endless hours of gameplay fun and actually has some educational value.
