Game Review (written by Nnnnnnnnnnnnnn) Added on: 02/01/2007
Tower toppler, and Old game I used to remember for the commodore 64. Nowadays it s available on the C64 DTV unit, and plays very nicely. The object of this game is quite simple, Get to the top of the tower. This game packs quite the challenge, The enemies can sometimes be hard to dodge, and even more difficult when you need to enter the doorways. Overall It's a great game for its simplistic originality.
Myself, I think that the game is rather difficult. Having never beaten it before I can honestly say that I'm not sure how the game really progressed, since I never knew the ending. But sure enough, I believe it follows the path of nothing-ness, or that, it is a game that really has no clear story but has a lot of action. Overall I think It's great, especially with all the cool sounds, and addictive gameplay. Those little green dudes get really annoying and are difficult to dodge. But it is possible, since some other people are sure to have done it already.
The graphics in this game, were simple, yet intuitive. The main character is a green alien whose goal is simple: to get to the top of the tower. This is no easy task, since there’s a lot of enemies in the way, but be assured the end result is far worth it. The quirky sounds also add to the cool style and gameplay, which really isn’t lacking anything but really does add some style. Overall this blue little alien dude seems to do quite the good job jumping and hopping up the stairs.
The overall gameplay was simple, but yet challenging along the way. More and more enemies sprout up on the stairs, and the stairs themselves are aligned in a difficult manner. Also, having to go up all those stairs and through those doors makes it a real pain, but again, yes that is the main point of the game. There are also the elements of the doors. By entering a door, the main character moves inside the tower, and then out another side. Like for example, a path leads to a dead end, with a door. By entering the door the player is allowed to access different areas of the level previously unreachable.
So overall, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone because of its nice addictive gameplay and overall great style. The sounds and graphics are quite unique, and are sure to be remembered for years to come.

Bloodsong (04/16/2006) This is an action-puzzle game that isn't too fast on the action. You play a cute little critter whose mission in life is to climb to the top of these lonely towers in order to topple them down. Between towers, you play a little side-scrolling mini-game where you try to blast rolling fish with bubbles. As you walk, the tower rotates around, and there are doorways that allow you to go through the tower to the other side. The dangers? First, don't fall off the platforms into the sea. Secondly, there are things that kill you, such as bouncing obstacles and flying fanblades. You can shoot little marbles out of your mouth that will destroy the blocks (but not fanblades). You can also jump, of course. The puzzle is figuring out the layout of the tower and the route to the top. There may be obstacles that you need to overcome or figure out. All-in-all, this is a nice quiet diversion. |
