Who remembers the days when they would go into the woods, grab a stick, and pretend to be a wizard with their friends (without worshiping Satan). Ultimate Wizard was the next best thing. I played this game for years on the C64 with my sisters, always competing for the top score.
This game had it all, attack spells, flying spells, and of course, great level titles (my personal favorite was "Great balls of Fire"). If you ever wondered if this game was worth a try, STOP WONDERING, I would take this over many of the games that are being released for the consoles of today.

If you played this before, and just came across it, it is that long lost friend who you
hung out with until you went to school. Let the nostalgia wash over you and enjoy this game. If you really want some old school style gaming, try to find a joystick similar to the C64 and use that (there are quite a few on the Internet, find them, use Google).
What makes playing this version great is the lack of a five and a quarter floppy that you have to make sure does not bend or touch anything, you don't need to hook up an old slow computer (even if it runs a better OS than windows) and you don't need to go find that old five and a quarter floppy disk.
The levels in this game are amazing and with so many completely different levels there is replay value galore. I recommend this game to anybody with a pulse (and to several people without one) and you will be addicted to it from level one. I really wish they could make this game again for a more recent console or for the computer but I do believe that it would lose all of the fans of the original version (after all, who would want a game that had amazing up to date graphics, without the other side of new games, good old story lines). Play this game.
