Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego is a direct copy of the original Where in the WORLD is Carmen Sandiego. These games were originally in the grammar schools to help make learning more fun. In this game, you are a detective who travels through various cities in the US such as New York, Dallas, Atlanta, etc. You use the clues that you obtain through interviewing at places to determine where you will travel to next to catch the criminal.
The scenarios are based on the special and unique things about each city.
In order to complete each mission you must follow all the clues, obtain a search warrant and follow all the clues to the proper city and catch the villain. I have played this game many years, as my other was a school teacher and it was readily available to me. I have yet to catch the illusive Carmen Sandiego herself but maybe you will be able to.

Initially the game was available on the Apple "Green Screen", but was also available latter on the IBM DOS system. As children often do the game was mistaken for fun, not education. Now for the game play. When you start the game, it asks you for your name. If you are new to the game just enter your name and your rank will be SLUTH. You will be assigned a mission, as to find a certain statue, landmark or whatever has been stolen by the vile henchmen. An example of the will be the Golden Gate bridge or the St. Louis Arch.
It will initially place you in the city in which crime was committed. Do some investigating an through reasoning you will determine the city in which the criminals have fled to next. Don’t forget to keep up with the clues of the criminal because before finding and arresting them you must get a warrant. Follow the criminal, watch you time because you have a time limit before you loose that mission. Find the criminal, arrest them and you will increase your rank.
