Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 01/02/2008
Dungeons filled with mazes and monsters and traveling through vast adventures is what you will discover in Wizard of Wor. In this game you will be traveling through many different dungeons and attempting to kill every monster you come into contact with. It is a great hack and slash/action adventure game.

When you are playing the game, you will come to many different monsters. These monsters consist of the blue dragon, the tyrannosaurus Rex which is yellow, a scorpion which is red, and a wizard that is blue.
The enemies will change the further you get into the levels. Once you have defeated an entire breed of one of the enemies, the next one will appear. On each level, there will be doors placed on either side of the level. The dungeon is all connected and will eventually wrap around to the beginning. When a monster utilizes the door it will not have access to it for a period of time, making a temporary safe haven near the door.

The game is a little difficult with all the encounters that you will have. At certain parts of the game, you will discover how difficult it actually is with the great number of monsters all coming at you at one time, which

can be quite frustrating. There is the option to have another person playing along with you that will assist you during the game in a cooperative style of play. This is a great option especially if you haven’t played the game before.

When the game was designed, it was given a single screen with a rectangular grid with walls and corridors being placed in various areas and formations. The graphics have been done in your usual arcade formation, but there is enough unexpectedness into the game design that you will have something new to experience with each level.

Patience is a definite must for Wizard of Wor. The game's format is astounding, but difficult, making this action adventure one of the most complicated games you may experience for many years to come. There are so many mazes that you will travel through, not knowing your exact direction to be heading towards; you know the game will be exciting. If you want to experience a more difficult action adventure, then Wizard of Wor is a fantastic selection for you.
