Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 01/02/2008
Instead of the prehistoric atmosphere, lets take on a medieval fantasy world in the game of Wonder Boy in Monster Land. This game has become the next generation of the Wonder Boy series. At the very beginning you will have your usual Wonder Boy start off, but now you have a sword to use as your lethal weapon taking on all those unexpected enemies.
Instead of the game being designed with the side-scrolling format you will have the option to travel in any direction throughout the game. This makes the game be viewed from the next level of gaming success.
Its time to earn some money and kill every single enemy you possibly can. Money will come in handy throughout the entire game assisting you with the many different purchases that you will want to make. You not only have to kill enemies, but you can discover coins placed throughout the levels which can be used the same. Once you have purchased several items you will discover your characters performance has changed slightly allowing you to take on the big bosses with fewer struggles.
If you want to experience one of the more difficult games included into the Wonder Boy series, then you have come to the right place. In Monster Land has been considered the most difficult game in the series since this game includes the use of a timer giving you a limit to all your adventurous travels. If you do not finish levels in the allotted time period you will be sent back to the very beginning of the game, which can become very frustrating. Compared to other games in the Wonder Boy series the graphical design has been done quite similar. There are marvelous colours included into every scene, with a large amount of detailed design to every item you see on the screen.
Games that have been designed to be more complicated those other games in their series usually are the most popular out of the series. This definitely goes for the Wonder Boy series. Generally this game has had a fair amount of thought placed into the format of the game and will take you to the next level of difficulty with every level completion. There is no possible way you will get bored of this game at any time. Action adventures have been very popular over the years, and Wonder Boy in Monster Land is one of the most outstanding games to be placed into this genre of gaming.

Yellow2009 (12/26/2006) I remember playing this game when i was young, it was so much fun and still is. It's quite easy except for the last level which is a long maze. You can collect coins and buy all this really cool stuff like winged boots which let you fly and stronger armor and swords. The graphics are pretty good and the game-play is interesting enough to occupy an entire rainy weekend, three thumbs up! |
