The Great Underground Empire known as Zork has been designed to be an interactive fiction game that was published in 1980 by Info COM. This game was the beginning of a very popular trilogy that everyone grew to love over the years.
You will begin the game in the year of 948 GUE, which is on the Zork calendar. You will take on the role of the adventurer during the game near a white house, which is in a small self-contained area. You are not given too much instruction at the beginning, but you will discover quickly what is expected of you.

You will first entire this house, which is filled with some very intriguing objects throughout it. Some of these items can consist of ancient brass lanterns, a trophy case that is empty, a sword with engravings on it, and many more. Once you discover the trapped door underneath the rug you will be taken to the dark dungeons. At the beginning you will only know it as a dungeon but you will soon discover that this is the entrance to many subterranean lands, known as the Great Underground Empire. You will come into contact with many dangerous creatures such as deadly gruels; a troll equipped with an axe, giant Cyclops, and many thieves.
The overall goal of this game is to go throughout the underground

empire and collect nineteen treasures and replace them into the trophy case. When you come upon the nineteen treasures you will be required to solve puzzles to be able to actually get your hands on them. Once you have collected all the treasures you will be rewards three hundred and fifty points and be ranked the Master Adventurer. There will then be an all of a sudden appearance of an ancient map that will give you some further instructions that will direct you to a stone barrow. This is when Zork I ends and the beginning of Zork II’s plot will begin.
If you want to take on a fascinating trilogy then you may want to begin it with Zork I. The game has a phenomenal plot that will take you through a lot of challenging aspects. With the ending of the game being open ended you know that you are going to have to take on the next game in the trilogy to get the rest of the plot for the first game. This is a fantastic game and you need downloading it and enjoy!
