Game Review (written by Rogerjscott) Added on: 03/02/2008
This is a fairly straight forwards 5 card draw poker simulator. Two rounds of betting per hand with the option to change as many cards as you wish between rounds. The AI isn't amazing and it's relatively easy to win. Disappointingly this is a trial version only, you need an unlock code to allow you to use all 5 models and see all the pictures.
On Trial mode you only have 1 model that gets mostly naked, the final picture when she's fully stripped is unavailable. The pictures up to this are ok and in reasonable resolution for a dos game. So long as you don't mind massive 80's hair then it's all a bit of good fun, just a shame the rest of the models are locked away beyond your grasp in game. I didn't notice any of the other models were particularly more attractive than the unlocked one, but variety is always nice.
The interface is simple and intuitive and installation was quick and easy. The game seems to have issues with how many colours my display can put out. Last time I checked I was running at more than 256 colours so I guess it's just a glitch. Quitting out of the game seemed to take quite a few keypresses/ mouseclicks before I could get it to close. I tended to leave the program running in the background if I was going to be coming back to any time soon, just because it was a bit of a pain to close it down. Removing the game didn't need me to do anything more complicated than finding the install folder and deleting it. No residual problems that I've found so far.
Over all, this is an ok game but does lack replay value without an unlock code. It is reasonably hard to beat the game down, taking me approx 45 minutes to an hour but I'm no expert at poker. The available trial model is quite attractive and for a change seems to get more attractive the less clothes she has on. It's a fun little time wasting game with the added bonus of having something pretty to look at while you click away trying to win a hand. With an unlock code then this game would be good for quite a few replays with 5 models all of whom will take approx 1 hour to beat. With the added variety that you would get I could see this game sitting on my computer for quite some time just a quick time waster to use when the mood takes me.
