Game Review 1 (written by Vulcangirl1983) Added on: 08/27/2006
I've played The Adventures of Willy Beamish many times, and each time I've found that it seems different every time I play. This game is one of the best games I have ever found. I just wish that the Esa wouldn't have put the kibosh on downloading this particular game. Oh well...maybe one of these days it will be downloadable once again.
This game has everything for the average gamer; Great Graphics, catchy background music, slightly challenging puzzles, and lots of luck.
This game is best played when you have nothing on the radio or TV, as I found you can concentrate better. But this game needs to have voice... I feel like you have trouble connecting to the various characters, if you can't hear their voices. I mean your imagination is great, but it means more if you can let your mind focus more on the various simple and more complex puzzles. Just remember to save and save often.
I forgot to save, and I got carried away, and had to restart the whole game. Believe me, not fun. Saving the game is relatively easy; the only hard part is remembering what you called your saved game. This game has pretty cool graphics.

And the story line is pretty good also. Basically you’re a kid who gets in trouble at school and in trouble with his parents. The goal of the game is to save the whole town…hard for a kid, right?
Nothing is impossible in this game. Just like real life corporations are evil and everyday people are the saviors of the world. Other than saving often, here is another tip. Click on everything you can possibly click on, because there might be something there that you would miss with the naked eye.
If you don’t save it constantly, and click all around you may end up trapped later on in the game with no other alternative but to restart the game. And restart enough times and you feel like you want to throw your entire computer system through the window. And if you throw that out the window, then how will you play this and any other cool games. I really thank you all for your time and taking time for reading my little review.

Game Review 2 (written by Greedyboy) Added on: 08/21/2006
My gaming experiences, like many others, started on the Atari. Of course, the Atari offered nothing in the way of graphical depth, but did give lots in the way of endless entertainment. All of that changed with the introduction of the CD to gaming platforms. Unfortunately, the CD never really caught on until Sony unleashed it's beast, the PS1. However, I can say I was still in love with one particular game that was only available to me through my trusty Sega CD: The Adventures of Willy Beamish.
I didn't own a computer, not had any idea of such a style of play available anywhere else with the exception of Maniac Mansion for NES, so I was instantly hooked on this game for months. Whether it was the cartoon graphics, or the ability to change how you get the end result, Willy Beamish kept me pumping my fist in defense of Sega's first major mistake.
The story begins with the hero, Willy, spending a little time in detention when he does something we all have wanted to do if we've ever spent time there. Willy can get up and sneak out! After this little bit of rebelliousness, the story truly sucks you in as you take a roller coaster ride through the streets of his hometown of Frampton to uncover what his grandfather's ghost describes as "something foul". Along with his frog, Horny, he sets off on a grand adventure in hopes of competing in the Nintari World Gaming Championships.
A lot of real life problems and situations are addressed in this game as well. Troubles such as poverty and corporate greed all give the gamer a sense of realism. Many years have passed since its creation and I still boot up a copy of this classic when the console gaming well runs dry.
Even Rock star probably had inspiration to make Bully on the gleaming memory of Willy Beamish. Although other point and click games can lay claim to being there first, I would have to say that Willy Beamish took it mainstream. Sega may have never sold a single system if this game were not available. I know kids that bought Sega CD systems on the sole promotion of Willy Beamish by me and others. Thanks to Sierra for giving us a truly remarkable game and doing something a lot of companies were afraid to do then and now being different.

Loosely based on the Leisure Suit Larry series when it comes to format and gameplay, but this is G-rated family friendly fare.

This is a really special game to me. Back when I played it It was something I could relate to being about the same age, it fitting for children of the 1990's A good cartoon veiw of the time. Willy does just about everything a kid of the time would want to do the graphics and city are bright and have lots of color. make it nice to look around in it's the kind of place you would not mind living in very pleasent place to run around. This is the older Floppy disk version I like the CD-rom or Sega cd version that have full "talking" and CD sounds but IF you cant get that then get this.
