Game Review (written by Rob_trebor69) Added on: 05/28/2007
Chewy is a cuddly pink character who is destined to solve puzzles by rushing around collecting anything he can lay his hands on, he too has a quirky personality of his own. Now I'm not saying he's in the same league as Simon (simon the sorcerer) or Rincewind (Discworld), but he's pretty funny all the same.
Chewy's mission in this third-person perspective cartoon game is to rescue his friend, Clint, who has been captured by the Borks who look to be distant relations of Feeble owing to their greenness.

Chewy's mission in this third-person perspective cartoon game is to rescue his friend, Clint, who has been captured by the Borks who look to be distant relations of Feeble owing to their greenness. Chewy has to first escape his prison before he can get on with his main mission, but then it's all fun and games as he sorts himself out and picks up some friends along the way to achieving

his main objective.
This game has heaps of problems to solve for adventure gamers who want a bit of light relief from the real problems in life. The puzzles aren't really tricky, but they are quite challenging and avoiding those terrible Borks is fun, as is winning the pumpkin competition, writing a bestseller, and capturing the devious ghost. Throughout your journey you'll meet a wide range of vaguely familiar characters to engage in conversation with. Chewy makes a special friend at the beginning of the game who has some useful tricks up their sleeve.
Now Chewy is a courageous little fellow and he delights in tempting fate and taunting his opponents. He is happy and cheerful even in the most grave circumstances. If he gets a bit insistent you can turn off the voices and just read the subtitles, one downside being you can't enable both options at once. You can also balance the sound effects and music, or turn them off as well. Pressing the right mouse button brings up a menu. This menu contains the save load functions and the action icons (walk, take use, look and talk) and provides inventory access.
Don't expect dazzling special effects, needlepoint sharpness, or billions of colors to ooze out of your monitor because you'll be disappointed. This one is just a bit of harmless fun and sits squarely on the silly side of the ledger. It's one of those games that parents and children can join in and play. Chewy has lots of endearing antics to charm both the young and the not-so-young.

This game is so much fun! I absolutely loved playing the original version in grade school. The graphics are better in this version, but the concept is the same. I would definitely recommend this game for a rainy day or just for a day where you want to stay in!
