Game Review (written by Xamel45) Added on: 04/17/2007
Over all I can remember being up all night playing the first Deja vu on the nintendo with my younger brother. I thought that the first one was really cool. I was pleased to see that they had made a sequel. I was very anxious to play this game. I really enjoy the text based adventure games as a whole, such as Dejavu and the Shadowgate series.
The Deja Vu game is one where the player wakes up in a strange room, with strange notes, objects, and finds out that a crime has been committed.

The Deja Vu game is one where the player wakes up in a strange room, with strange notes, objects, and finds out that a crime has been committed. It looks like the character has committed the crime, yet the character has no memory of what has happened to them. It is your job to find all

of clues and evidence to find out what has happened. The game leads the player all over an imaginary city looking for those clues. Also to end the game the player must turn themselves over to the police to finish the game. The evidence that you have on you at the end of the game will decide if you are innocent or guilty of committing a crime or a the victim of a foul plot.
Over all the game is a great classic. There was a lot of thought put into the game. It is not a senseless shooter. Here the game is all about solving the puzzle. The point and click navigation was by far one of the easiest ways to get through the game. The game is challenging and actually hard to finish. The may clues and hints one needs to gather to solve the mystery is quite challenging, and if not done exactly correct the game will end with unfavourable results. The hardest part of the game actually is finding all of the evidence and making sure they remember what all that is exactly.
Also in the end what evidence one chooses to keep and turn in vs. the evidence that you need to get rid of the keep your self safe is a tricky thing to figure out. This game was definitely a step ahead of its time. Now a days there are a ton of cis and police style shows on TV, and Deja vu certainly puts you in one of those investigations. Like I said I was very happy to find out there was a sequel to this time classic game. If you are really in to police dramas and crime scene investigations you should definitely check out this game. There are so few older games that are this much fun.

I remember playing this game for the first time with my brother and father years ago. We were completely sucked in by the story and game play. The graphics while not revolutionary were more then sufficient for a story based strategy game. Reminiscent of the first strategy games of the TI-99, which had only text and no graphics, this game is able to hold your attention throught the desire of figuring out every clue, trying every possibility in order to solve the mystery. I suppose game play length is based soley on how well you can solve the mystery. I believe that any fan of mystery/thinking games should give this one a try.

A good sequel, I liked it better than the first game. Better graphics, storyline, and user-interface.

.Oh yeah, it was fun to eat the old food in the garbage can in the alley behind Joey's bar and break just about every mirror or glass window in the game.
