Gobliins 2 features only two goblins Fingus and Winkle as opposed to the first game, Gobliiins which had 3(1 less in title, 1 less goblin in game),The 2 colorful characters must set out on a journey to save the Prince Buffoon from the foul green demons who have taken over the castle king's castle. This puzzle game which is the second of the goblins series may have one less goblin but is just as tough as its previous game.
To save the Prince you must travel through all sorts of crazy worlds including magic mushroom induced levels to an extremely odd underwater sea world.
The game features a fantastic soundtrack and that good sense of humor that seems to be apparent in classic dos games.
As opposed to the first installment (Gobliiins) it's not so easy to figure out where you have to place your 2 goblins. Often times it's hard to figure out who must pick up what and who must stand on what, but nonetheless it isn't impossible.
You might like this game if you enjoyed the Monkey Island series (an extremely popular series by Lucas Films Games that uses the Scumm engine) for I found myself comparing the two because I constantly found myself stuck and unable to proceed but also for it's irony.
I'm especially attached to this game because it
was probably one of my first games, let alone puzzle game that I ever played. Being born in 90' and since the game came out in 92’ I was very young when my family picked it up. I remember when I was that young my brother and I would stay up late(well as late as we could at that age) playing, trying to figure out the next puzzle but there was one that we never managed to get past. Just recently I cracked out my old floppy disks and uncovered this classic. I popped it in thinking that I would have no trouble being 16. I was wrong. It took me an awful long time to get through it (and a lot of swearing at the screen) so I would only recommend this game to individuals with an extreme amount of patience and gamers who are experienced in the puzzle genre.
Hopefully you will all enjoy this game and have just as much fun as I did. I would definitely consider this crazy, cartoon game, one of the greatest games, let alone dos games of all time.
