In my opinion one of the finest Indiana Jones games ever produced ranking along side Fate of Atlantis (given note of their obvious graphic differences). Indiana provides the perfect balance between riddles and physical puzzles, a must download for all adventure game enthusiasts.
This game is a text adventure so there are no elaborate scenes for me to describe. You of course take the role of the famous explorer and archeologist Indiana Jones in his quest for the power key. As usual, the Nazis (for any gamers, a regular occurrence in Indiana Jones games) are close on your tail.
From the very first screen people are trying to dispose of you, a wrong turn here, a few too many indecisive moves and you'll find yourself dead before you know it.
To play this game one must be quick on your feet as there is little room for error. In my opinion a little more leeway was probably needed for more enjoyable game-play. It seems to me unfortunate that the programming allows little error as this can really destroy what should have been the epitomic of Indy games. Unlike graphic games, text adventures are advantageous as they allow a greater amount of choice and variation, you can choose exactly where to do something, and how you want it done, literally placing you in the shoes of the character.
Unlike
Fate of Atlantis, Infernal Machine or Greatest Adventures, there is not a set path to follow in the previously mentioned, you are often forced to follow certain paths and restricted by the way in which you use items in your inventory.
Overall I recommend this game to all Indy fans and ask them to try and be patient when playing this edition to the series, you will certainly find it pays off in the end and is well worth the perseverance. This to me was the heart of all Indiana games, standing apart from the others by allowing the player to break free of the mould of other Indy games. In saying that, I still would only rate it an 8/10.
