Jurassic Park is a good game overall, and the prducers did a really good job of copying the plot from the blockbuster movie. They also do a nice job with characters as this is a fully licensed title. You don’t get many of your own things to do, but instead concentrate on recreating the things the characters did within the movie. The Tandy graphics are okay, and unlike most Amiga graphic cards, this isn’t too choppy. The monsters are pretty well thought up and are nicely done.
This is pretty much a strategy game where you duck and run from dinosaurs. The game is a lot like the movie in respect that this is full of movie cut scenes in 356 VGA colour. There are quite a few bugs here to deal with, like you can actually jump in the T-rex's jaws and flash but not die. Learn to use the bugs to your advantage. There are several playable characters, which makes this game a little bit deeper.
If you are bored, then this is an okay distraction. You can switch between characters to get different endings and different quests. The main goal for the Dr. Grant's character is to stop the evil scientist who stole
the dinosaur DNA to sell in auction just like in the movie! (I said it was the movie pretty much). The kids' quest is almost the same too: you try to hide from T-rex in a car, feed plant eating dinosaurs in the jungle, save baby dinosaurs from raptors. There are a lot of items to chose from like weapons (riffle, flare gun, knife and elephant gun) with several other items like bandages, water bottles, and food...yes you need to eat and drink and sleep. Dinosaur eggs to rescue, fruit to eat, ammo for guns, maps and other miscellaneous items you need to survive in the jungle with can be found periodically and are sometimes quest rewards. I like the fact that you can hijack vehicles like jeeps, helicopters, SUVs, motor cycles. All vehicles have Jurassic park logo on them and can take damage. The wreckage is well drawn when the vehicles encounter problems.
You get quests for each character you can play: the scientist who found dinosaur DNA, Jack the hunter, and the children, Tim and Lexxie. The hunter’s job is to track down the evil scientist who stole the dinosaur DNA and keep him from selling it. The scientist who made Jurassic Park has to get dna and keep world from knowing about Jurassic Park. The kids have to save all plant eating dinosaurs from all the bad meat eating ones; all the characters have different movie endings but in the end Jurassic park is lost.
