Game Review (written by Dolphinsfan81) Added on: 03/27/2008
I first played the game in the early 80’s.I used to go to my friend’s house because I did not have a computer and my friend’s mom had a PCjr. I used to play the game for hours at a time because it was so hard to figure out. The graphics were good for the time, the game play was okay because you had to use the keyboard. The game combines a lot of fairy tales and makes you figure out puzzles about each fairy tale, which was very cool back then.

You are Sir Graham and you travel through the Kingdom of Daventry in search of a Magic Mirror, Treasure Chest, and Magic Shield. You will have to figure out what
KingKingKing
to do with a Giant in a Cloud Land, Leprechauns and a Fire Breathing Dragon. There are people you need to help like a poor old woodcutter and his wife and there are people you need to watch out for like the witch and ogre. You also meet a character like rumplestiltskin and asks you if you can guess her name and you only have three guesses. Rumplestiltskin is the first witch comes to mind but that’s not it. You will have to look else where in Daventry if you want to find clues about his real name.
There are so many puzzles to solve and things to do you can sit and play for hours at a time and it was a lot harder to do back then when there weren’t as many people on the internet and you weren’t able to get walkthroughs so easy. I just want to let everyone know there is a whole series of Kings Quest games now. I recently purchased the collectors pack and it comes with Kings Quest I – Kings Quest VII I just finished Kings Quest III and looking forward to trying to finish the rest without using walkthroughs. I have also heard similar games like Space Quest and Police Quest are available in collectors packs as well. These games should provide hours and hours of fun for adults and children of all ages. Like I mentioned before these games or the start of them were made in the early 80’s so if you can get by the graphics the story line of the games are great! So if you do decide to download I’m sure you and your family will enjoy them very much. Thank you for reading this review and I hope it makes your decision easier.
