Maniac Mansion is an incredibly fun action-packed puzzle game that was later adapted into the ever-loved Day of the Tentacle. The plot is 3 friends put there heads together to defeat the evil “Purple Tentacle” before he goes through with his plot to take over the world. Through brains and quick-wits you can thwart his evil scheme, but this game is not for the faint of heart. You must be wary of your surroundings else you be captured. The game is set in a huge scary-looking house, complete with a dungeon.

The game is set in a huge scary-looking house, complete with a dungeon. But, if you befriend the other residents and [the plants?], you might find yourself saving the world from tyranny and becoming a hero.
It starts with a meteor flying down from the
sky and landing in the yard of Dr. Fred, a mad scientist with two unusual pets. Dr. Fred captures the girlfriend of our hero and is attempting to drain her brain to fulfil his evil plans of world domination. The hero then assembles a force of three teenagers to rescue his girlfriend Sandy from certain doom and rid the world of the evil Dr. Fred. The two friends are up to the players to decide, but whom you choose doesn’t really matter. Checking every nook and cranny, you may never find every secret this game contains. It was the first adventure game that Lucas Arts (Or Lucas films) ever made, and it was followed by many classics including: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Sam & Max Hit the Road, and many others. You haven’t played a more challenging computer game from 1987, I promise. Although I won’t reveal any big secrets to the game, I’m willing to give a few clues. 1. You may not be welcome in the house, but that doesn’t mean welcome won’t help you. 2. I heard once that hamsters aren’t a big fan of micro-technology 3. Don’t you hate suicide terrorists and their cheap old cars? 4. Water your plants every day, they get thirsty. Play around with every combination; you never know what you might find a hilarious answer to something as simple as: Put candy bar in Microwave. The possibilities are endless, and I certainly recommend this game to anyone who calls themself a true classic gamer. So, don’t look away when you consider the Lucas film Classic: Maniac Mansion. One last thing: Radiation kills, so put on that radiation deterring suit.
