Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 02/01/2008
Become a part of the second sequel of Monkey Island in this next adventure of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge. Travel around the Caribbean with Guybrush Threepwood who has been designed as a pirate who enjoys taking part in a lot of thrilling events.
You believe you have defeated LeChuck and begin your search for a treasure known as Big Whoop. Finding a ship to take you there won’t be too difficult to do. You have soon been told that one of your enemies has placed an embargo over the island and destroying him is the only way to get this taken away.

While you were defeating your enemy Largo you decided to try being the bigger man and proved to him that you defeated

LeChuck with displaying his beard that you have taken. This was a big mistake. Largo takes off with this very useful beard and brings back LeChuck from his grave. Find the treasure of the Big Whoop to discover how you will destroy LeChuck for the last time.
There is much you will have to accomplish to get all of the clues you will need to discover this very handy treasure. Some will be quite useful and others may seem down right idiotic. Eventually you will have the ability to reconstruct the map of Dinky Island where the Big Whoop treasure has been hidden. LeChuck soon takes this map so you must navigate your way there without knowing where exactly you are suppose to go. Surely enough though you find your way in no time. When you have reached the island you encounter a gentleman who has a parrot who will assist you on your travels to the treasure. All you have to do is give him some crackers once you have found the barrel place of the treasure.
Now this is where things will become a little interesting. You will navigate through many tunnels with LeChuck tormenting you. Soon you will create a voo doo doll resembling Lechuck and the zombie pirates. There is a huge twist in the game that you wouldn’t expect. You soon discover that you and LeChuck are siblings and leave the tunnels together to encounter your parents who are in the Big Whoop amusement park. Now if that isn’t one of the most interesting twists you’ll ever experience I have no clue what is. Then another twist comes your way with LeChuck grinning evilly and then the final screen of the game will be Elaine, your friend wondering what’s happened to you as she is standing in front of the excavation site of Big Whoop wondering where you are. Hopefully you want to experience another Monkey Island game if you want to know what happens.

Monkey Island 2 is still a classic graphic adventure game. Continuing the story of Guybrush Threepwood in his quest to be a pirate, shag Elaine, secure the treasure of big whoop and defeat once and for all the evil pirate Le'Chuck, who he inadvertently helps bring back. The game is a huge step forward from the first in the series. The graphics are better, cleaner and the maps larger and puzzles much, much harder. You could be there for years, and you'll be tempted to seek out a walkthrough for 1 or 2 bits, but try not to use it for the whole game or you'll spoil it! If you missed this game and only played later versions, you must play this once more.
