Permanent Daylight

PC
Genre:  Adventure    |     Year: 2001    |     Publisher: Freeware     |     Developer: Freeware
Game Review (written by Masterofsounds) Added on: 07/22/2007
The story to Permanent Daylight is you’re a man named Dieter and you have to stop a mad scientist named Really Really Evil Ed. If you don’t, the world is, well, pretty much screwed as the name implies. This game is a large parody filled with comedic moments.
The gameplay is not bad, the point and click system works pretty well, and you should have no trouble using it. The puzzles can be tough, but like most point and clicks, you are going to have to check everything and combine weird things.

The puzzles can be tough, but like most point and clicks, you are going to have to check everything and combine weird things. The difficulty is not too high and should be alright for anyone to play. The humor is high in this game, and should make most people laugh and smirk.

The humor slowly fades, but it still manages to get a kick or two out of you. The intro usually grabs people and makes them want to play the game, and I recommend watching it before you play.
The graphics are done in a cartoon like way, and are not super high def. But, this does not take away from the fun of the game. The graphics look similar to many AGS point and clicks. Overall, they are not too bad. There is no sound or music. This is the games only problem; it could have used sound and music, and without it, may push some gamers away.
I personally thought this game was very good and very funny. The puzzles were great, the dialogue was humorous and the intro and ending were enjoyable. I recommend this game if you like point and click adventures. Several of my friends have played it and enjoyed it just as much as I. The only games I can compare it to are 5 Days a Stranger when it comes to graphics and Monkey Island when it comes to humor. If you like those games or ones like them, this should grab you.
Overall the game is a good game, and it should grab some people attention. The humor, the gameplay and the style of the puzzles are all well done. The only flaw is the lack of sound and music, but it doesn’t ruin the adventure very much. The fun factor is pretty high, and that alone makes this game a sure bet to play. And with a download size of only 690 kb, what more could you ask for?
