Police Quest 3 is the third instalment in the Police Quest series. In the third game Sonny Bonds has already married Marie, has been promoted to sergeant at the traffic division and is now living a quiet life.
At the start of the game, Sonny starts his day with a briefing with his men. He is also reprimanding a rouge officer named Pat Morales. As he was giving the morning briefing, he was called to the Clearwater Park where there was some sort of disturbance.
When he gets to the park he finds a man who is disturbing the people, and so he arrests the man and throws him in jail.
After you put the man in jail, you receive a call from the formerly mentioned officer Pat Morales requesting for assistance regarding a traffic violation. When Sonny gets to the scene he discovers that a pregnant woman was refusing to sign the traffic ticket but he can not morally arrest the woman because she is pregnant. This gets officer Morales upset.
After Sonny leaves Morales, he goes on highway patrol where he has to face other traffic violators. As Sonny finishes up with the work he learns that his wife has been attacked at the Oak Tree Mall. Marie
was stabbed and was left in a coma. Because of this Sonny was reassigned to the Homicide Division with Pat Morales as his new partner.
The game will have you playing the role of Sonny. Together with your new partner, you investigate the attack on your beloved Marie. You need to play smart and figure out all the evidence and clues that you will receive in the game. You follow the linear plot and you must use your wits when playing the game.
The game is fun but the graphics, the sound and the game play are not really very impressive. Some of the scenarios may seem impossible and there will also be some serious bureaucracy that you have to deal with in the game but if you are willing to overlook these flaws then you might just enjoy the game. Some parts of the game can be boring and tedious...probably like real police detective work...especially for the more experienced gamer but if you are a novice player and just want a new game to try then you can download this game. I’d say the game is fun but completely average. The puzzles are well-placed and varied and you really do have to pay attention to details to solve many of them, which makes Police Quest 3 somewhat reflective of life on the beat. It isn't one of the top ten point and click adventure games in history, but it is solid none the less.
