Back in the day Adventure Games were everything to everyone. A learning tool and a fun tool to use, they let you use your imagination and intelligence to complete a series of tasks.
Scott Adams wrote quite a few of these games, 14 of them were considered under the Classic headline, and covered adventures on pirate islands, treasure islands, space and many other settings. Scott then turned his attention to superheroes and started to write 12 adventures for Marvel Comics.
The first game was with the HULK.
Of course being an early adventure, the interpreter to type commands was very limited consisting of no more then 2 words.

This limited enjoyment a lot in these games, as each situation would definitely require more than 2 words
to work. So you had to think like the programmer.
A perfect example is at the beginning of this game - you are Bruce Banner, you are tied to a chair and cannot move, you can see exits but cannot reach them, what do you want to do now?
Anyone who knows the hulk, knows he changes when angry or outraged, so the puzzle was "how do you change to the hulk, if there is no one around, and you are tied hand and foot to a chair?
The solution was "bite lip" but many of us who played this game tried "rock chair" "tip chair" etc., etc. and if you didn’t have the mind of Mr. Adams this is a very obscure thing to do to get angry. God help Bruce Banner if he ever eats a hard piece of candy and chips a tooth.
Despite these shortcomings, if you managed to preserve, it was an experience to play and one filled with lots of memories.
Highlights included graphics for the more top end of home computers, and most versions came with a comic to set the scene.
Other heroes also appeared in the game including Doctor Strange and Ant Man.
Although the first in a series of games, of which 12 were scheduled. Adventure international went into bankruptcy and so only 2 other games were released "Spiderman" and "Fantastic Four".
Each of the later games had a better graphic engine and allowed more then 2 word entries.
This is a piece of history and worthy of a download, but be prepared for frustration. This game is not easy in any respect.
