Game Review (written by Fyadbyob) Added on: 08/22/2007
First off, I would like to say that the sense of humor that made the books so great is perfectly preserved in this game. I think that with text adventures, there is only three factors: Story, puzzles, and fun. Since it is based on the Hitchkiker's guide to the Galaxy, the story is hands down fantastic. The puzzles are probably the best in any text game ever. I don't want to spoil anything for you, but good luck on the babelfish puzzle! And, lastly, There is fun.

This is the most fun you will ever have with an adventure game. The game's humor will keep you laughing and laughing for hours on end.
This kind of humor will make any

part of the game fun. Even when you die you'll be laughing as the game makes a joke at your expense, and believe me when I say that you WILL die. Don't even try to avoid dying, in fact, the game will actually have you looking for more ways to die just so you can hear another funny joke at your expense. You will be laughing every step of the way at the various wise cracks, puns, insults, and other humorous tomfoolery. If you want to laugh, for the love of god start playing this game just right now!
Please, don't be drawn away from the fact that it is a text based game with no graphics. If you are willing, you will find that the game is a big pot of great fun! But if the lack of graphics is really bothering you, then you can find a graphical version on the Hitchhiker's Guide website. Just look it up on google, it's easy to find it.

This classic 80's Sci-fi game, based on the popular TV series, tells the story of Arthur Dent, one of two surviving humans after Earth has been blown up to make way for a hyper-space by-pass. Arthur reunites with his ex-girlfriend and on his travels meets other noteworthy characters such as the President of the Universe. This game was a landmark title of adventure gaming. For anyone who was a fan of The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy, the game was much like the book, however had some changes to it. Arthur was more involved in the storyline for the game, having to solve several puzzles throughout the game such as the babble-fish. The game's text interface is extremely good, although on some occasions the game player would have to be more precise and straight to the point in order to solve puzzles to continue through the story. What is great about this game, though, is the fact that when solving the puzzles, there are more than one way to do so. A game well worth playing!

I remember playing this game years ago, it sticks to the story of the book well but has fresh additional challenges that make you come back for more. 10 out of 10

This game is very interesting! A good game! This Sci-fi game follows the life-changing adventures of Arthur Dent, a human being. He is one of the only two surviving humans in the universe, since Earth was demolished, to make way for a hyper-space bypass. Everyone apart from Arthur and his ex-girlfriend were obliterated. On his long and tiring journey, Arthur re-encounters his ex-girlfriend, and meets a journalist for the Hitchhiker\'s Guide to the Galaxy and the president of the universe. Together, they brave several of the terrors of the universe and discover some peculiar things.
