The Orion Conspiracy is a graphic adventure video game that was released in 1995. I suggest keeping this away from the kiddies as this game received in 18+ rating because of the profanity, violence, and homosexual references.
It is the year 2160 and corrupt corporations and governments rule the universe. They will do anything they can in order to get what they want. You play the character Devlin McCormack, and you barely finish burying your son when you find out that he was murdered. Here’s where the homosexual reference comes in: your son was involved in a romantic relationship with a man.

Here’s where the homosexual reference comes in: your son was involved in a romantic relationship with a man. Steve Kaufmann, your son’s boyfriend, is even a character in the game. You set out to find your son’s killer and make him pay. You will
have to confront evil leaders and space aliens along your journey of revenge, along with solving some good puzzles.
The interface for this game is the easy point-and-click variety. As you go along in the game, there will be hotspots noted on the screen along with potential object interactions that are displayed by using the right mouse button. Making so much of the game totally obvious makes the game easier than it should have been. The most difficult, or rather time consuming part of the game is moving Devlin from one place to another. There are no shortcuts are available, so you will have to move your character as if you are doing the movements in real life.
The graphics for this game aren’t that well done…but the graphics in most games from 10-15 years ago don’t seem too hot compared to today’s phenomenal advancement in computer animation. The backgrounds and most characters are painted, rather than being computer generated. There are some animated scenes that contain mild violence. As for sound, it’s the characters’ voices that need help. The voice-over actors needed way more direction as their performances seemed choppy with even mispronunciation of some words. Who directed these people?? Whoever did, sure put tons of profanity into the dialogue.
If you are put off by profanity and homosexual references, you might want to steer clear of The Orion Conspiracy. If those things don’t bother you, and you are a fan of old school graphics, a simple interface, and easy gameplay, then you might enjoy this game.
